Welcome to JW Assist

JW Assist provides free, accessible content from JW.org, formatted to support reading accessibility for individuals who are blind, deafblind, have low vision, are partially sighted, or are living with conditions such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism, dementia, or other neurodiverse challenges.

In accordance with U.S. copyright law, JW Assist uses accessible features that provide independent and accessible navigation and access to God’s Word for educational and personal use, and assists individuals with visual or print disabilities.

The simple Daily Text and Bible Reading page assists in following the daily schedule for Bible reading. In one year, listen to the entire Bible, brought to life by a full cast of over 1,000 character voices. This page automatically updates each day, so it is easy to stay on schedule.

For accessibility, JW Assist is optimized for users of screen readers such as VoiceOver (iOS/Mac), JAWS, ZoomText, NVDA, and TalkBack (Android), as well as braille displays and keyboard-only navigation. The audio on the meetings page includes Bible quotations and reference material, all presented in an accessible format for easy navigation to prepare for meetings. The entire Enjoy Life Forever! course includes audio-described videos and cue tones to signal when to pause to answer the question, or to reflect on and discuss teaching points. For individuals with low vision or dyslexia, JW Assist offers high-contrast color themes, large text, and customizable color settings to maximize reading comfort and improve readability. Whether you are blind and using assistive technology or have low vision and need to adjust visual preferences, JW Assist is designed to provide an inclusive, accessible Bible study experience tailored to individual needs.

Offering a wide range of accessible media, JW Assist includes videos with audio description, which narrates essential visual details when dialog is silent. For those who are deafblind, each video is paired with a descriptive transcript, which can be read using electronic braille devices. For blind and low vision users, audio-described songs are included to make singing more inclusive, supporting both personal enjoyment and group participation. Each song features lyrics in accessible line-by-line text, as well as videos with audio description that narrate the words just before they are sung. This dual format makes it easier to learn the melody and lyrics. It is ideal for practicing at home or using headphones, to confidently sing at meetings.

In addition, regardless of ability or technical experience, helpful video tutorials are available for learning to use assistive tools, like the NLS Talking Book Player, VoiceOver, Alexa, and other accessible technologies, assisting spiritual learning.
